26 Jun 2025 AM3‑CIRCULAR at R2B 2025: Showcasing Innovation in Additive Manufacturing

The AM3‑CIRCULAR project took part in the 2025 edition of R2B – Research to Business, the innovation and industrial research fair held at BolognaFiere on June 25–26.
Within the Ecoinnovazione booth – the ENEA spin-off and project coordinator – a 3D printer was on display in operation, along with some of the prototypes developed during the research activities. The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the project’s work in a setting dedicated to the green and digital transition of production systems.
At the heart of AM3‑CIRCULAR lies the search for innovative and sustainable solutions in additive manufacturing, focusing on two strategic sectors: the biomedical and motorcycle industries.
During the event, the project team engaged in fruitful discussions with companies, researchers, and stakeholders around several key topics:
- The use of recycled and recyclable materials for 3D printing;
- Tools for assessing the environmental impact (LCA) of AM products;
- eco-design approaches to improve product circularity;
- Comparison between traditional and additive manufacturing technologies from an environmental and cost perspective.
Participation in R2B also allowed us to highlight the work carried out in close collaboration with the project’s industrial partners, who are currently testing and validating innovative solutions.
The overall goal is to build a more sustainable, efficient, and forward-looking regional additive manufacturing supply chain
